Mercury Retrograde is here—and if things feel messy, it’s not a sign to push harder. It’s a cue to pause, process what’s been simmering under the surface, and get clear before you move forward. I’m hosting a free Conscious Retrospective on Wed, March 11 at 7pm ET to help you do exactly that.
A few days ago I wrote about the overall energy you can expect during this Mercury Retrograde cycle. If you missed it, you can read more here.
I felt the need to write this continuation because not only is this retrograde overlapping with a lunar eclipse (more on that in my next email), but it is forming conjunctions with three different planets as it retraces its steps through Pisces.
Conjunctions are moments when two planets meet at the same degree in the sky, blending their themes into one concentrated headline. They tend to make things feel louder and more personal, like the larger retrograde story arc comes into focus, so it’s worth paying attention to what comes up on the days these conjunctions occur.

Feb 28th — Check In on Your Values
Mercury Rx Conjunct Venus
This day will likely feel nostalgic and sentimental. Old loves may come around, old conversations may come to mind, and old versions of you and your work may surface. Sometimes reflecting on who we once were and what we once cared about can be heavy, especially when we recognize the relationships and situations that we’ve outgrown and need to let go of now.
Use this day to:
Revisit what you value now. Not what you should value or what other people value about you, but what you value. What’s important to you, and what makes you feel valued in the world.
Repair conversations. (if both people are ready). See if you can avoid the dramatic, anxiety inducing “we need to talk” and instead position it as “I want to understand what happened”, and mean it.
Reassess your boundaries. This can be subtle with things like your energy, time, and attention — or in more practical ways like your salary (whether you’re paying yourself or collecting from an employer)
Reflect: Where have you been trying to make something feel good but overriding what you know you really want?

March 7th — Accept the Gift of Clarity
Mercury Rx Conjunct the Sun
This is the moment of clarity during every Mercury retrograde cycle when Mercury meets the sun. This cazimi moment will be a short reprieve during a generally confusing few weeks and will give you a moment to rest your mind. You’ll likely even receive a flash of insight or message that cuts through the fog — so notice what you notice today because you’ll likely get an “ohh, that’s what this is about…” download.
Use this day to:
Send the message your’ve been drafting in your head. Keep it simple and clean — one clear ask, one clear next step. This is a better day for clarifying rather than over-explaining.
Draft a plan. It doesn’t need to be a 50 page business strategy with a 12 month roadmap, but even just pinpointing what you’ve been avoiding, planning out your next two steps, and choosing a date to check in with yourself can result in exponential progress.
Make the decision. If you’ve been spinning pre-retrograde feeling like you don’t quite have enough information, let the insights that drop in today serve as guideposts to help you choose your path. Commit to a direction — even if it’s temporary. Movement will give you data, but waiting to have all the answers will only keep you stuck.
Reflect: If you stopped trying to be 100% certain, what would become obvious?

March 11th — Reinforce Your Boundaries
Mercury Rx Conjunct Mars
This day may feel sharp. Mars adds heat, so with Mercury misfiring this can result in a nervous system with a hairline trigger and blurting out words that don’t accurately reflect your intentions. You may also feel a strong urge to “fix it now”, so if you suddenly feel frantic to move on something, know that it’s false urgency and the best thing you can do is rest and wait for the wave to pass for the clarity to come through.
You might feel extra defensive, protective and ready to argue your case, impatient with anything that’s inefficient (especially at work), and like if you get one more request where no one can clearly articulate what it is they’re actually trying to do you’re going to scream and/or rage quit.
Avoid high-stakes conversations. I know this is hard if you’re in a corporate environment, but if it has to happen, do everything you can to make things crystal clear and slow down the pace. Ask for an agenda, take notes, and give yourself permission to say, “I want to make sure I take the time to think this through, I’ll get back to you tomorrow.”
Let your energy move. Mars wants to move while Mercury in retrograde wants to refine. Let yourself do both today - move your body to get your blood pumping and regulate your nervous system first, then decide what actually needs to be addressed.
Channel the fire into something productive and contained. Clean up the process. Rewrite the email. Decide on your “boundary” script (I use “I don’t have capacity for that right now” then propose an alternative option). If you want support taking this pause, I’m hosting the Conscious Retrospective on this day. Details below.
Reflect: What would it look like to advocate for myself instead of abandoning my needs?

Conscious Retrospective is a structured group reflection with live Q&A so we can come together in community to support each other in identifying what needs clarity or resolution so you’re prepared when it’s time to move forward again. This borrows the best of a corporate retrospective and applies it to your life and work while honoring the energy of the season.
We will talk briefly about the energy of this retrograde, but this call is not a predictive reading or forecast.
It will be an opportunity to see what’s been costing you time/energy/peace and decide what you’re ready to revise, release, or recommit to.
You’ll leave with:
A clear understanding of how to use this Mercury Retrograde cycle
Insight into what to stop, start, or continue
Clarity you can actually move with once retrograde ends
If you seem “fine” but are quietly fried, you’re not alone. This is exactly the moment where a conscious reset can change everything.
Hope to see you there,
Marissa
